0.4.1-Alpha Release


This is a much larger update, including several quality-of-life changes and the last major feature for the game: Encounters! In between certain rounds, you'll get the option to choose a card in your deck and have an encounter with them based on what they're looking for. Each encounter offers risk/reward options which can significantly affect your run!

Without further ado, here are the patch notes — as before, the ones in italics were suggestions from your feedback:

Bug Fixes:

  • Claws (Consensual) will now actually trigger if a Wolf completes 2 or more properties at once
  • Travel Pass can no longer add duplicate Lookings For to cards in your hand
  • You can no longer buy upgrades in the middle of a run
  • Lookings For on Mood Cards are now always sorted alphabetically
  • If a tap is removed from a card during a round, the UI will now update accordingly
  • Playing a tapped card when already at the 3rd card with Shy Guy will no longer prevent the next card played from being tapped
  • Fixed an edge case where autowinning a run when reaching no Cards Left could show both the rewards modal and game over modal at the same time

New/Updated Features:

  • Implemented Encounters, a new feature that will offer chances to make risk/reward decisions that'll impact your run!
    • Note: All encounter dialogue is currently placeholder text
  • If you put a new card in the play/discard slot, the current card will return back to your hand
  • You can now enable optional archetype color coding in the settings
  • A number of keywords in the game are now bolded and have their own tooltips
  • XP is now much easier to earn; you no longer have to reach Round 5
  • You can now see challenges and the Risk meter in the bottom bar in-game
  • Added an option to disable card movement smoothing, which should make moving cards look better on low-power GPUs
  • Created a credits screen on the main menu!
  • Moved the settings button on the main menu to a gear icon in the bottom-right
  • Added optional zone labels to show what each area of the game screen is, which you can enable in the settings
  • You can now right-click cards to mark them and help plan on which Mood you'd like to play them
  • The game now autosaves on the Card Grid and during Encounters so you can pick up the game closer to where you left off

Sticker Changes:

  • Drunk Text now adds a permanent copy of the last Twink you played/discarded instead of a temporary copy of whichever card you last played/discarded
  • Enable Filters has had its icon updated to be a pair of rose-tinted spectacles
  • Grid Edges is now a Spicy sticker
  • Heavy Dumbbells (reworked!):
    • Old: "Jocks complete random Mood properties equal to your Cards Left"
    • New: "If you have more Cards Left than Discards Left, Jocks complete a random Mood property"
  • Misty Rain (reworked!):
    • Old: "Gain Cards Left each round based on how many Cards Left you had remaining last round"
    • New: "Gain Discards Left each round based on how many Cards Left you had remaining last round"
  • Paw of Grace now only prevents you from losing once rather than multiple times if you continued to have Bears in your hand
  • Shaving Cream has had its description updated to make its effect clearer
  • Twink Lover now also draws a card
  • Ursa Major and Ursa Minor no longer also draw cards
